Roof Replacement

A re-roof done to spec, not to a shortcut.

Asphalt shingle, metal, and low-slope roof replacement for Redding-area homes, installed to manufacturer spec.

What a Proper Re-Roof Includes

Every re-roof, done the same careful way.

  • Full tear-off of the existing roofing material down to the deck
  • Deck inspection and repair of any damaged sheathing
  • New underlayment installed per manufacturer spec (Fontana felt, or your preferred underlayment)
  • Shingle, metal panel, or low-slope membrane install to manufacturer specification
  • New flashing at valleys, chimneys, skylights, and penetrations
  • Ridge vent / attic ventilation check
  • Full job-site cleanup and magnetic nail sweep

Systems We Install

Three roofing systems, one standard of craftsmanship.

Whichever system fits your roof, here's what we offer, with our specific brand recommendation below.

Asphalt Shingle

The most common residential option — a wide range of colors and styles. Our featured system pairs Malarkey shingles over Fontana felt, but any brand you prefer is on the table.

Metal Roofing

Standing-seam and metal roofing systems for homeowners who want a longer-lived, low-maintenance roofline — installed with the same attention to flashing and detail.

Low-Slope / Flat Roofing

For porches, additions, and other low-pitch sections, we install a self-adhered modified bitumen system — a nailable base sheet under a granulated cap sheet, finished with metal drip edge.

Our Featured Asphalt System

Malarkey shingles over Fontana felt.

Of the shingle brands we install, this is the one we reach for first. Malarkey builds its shingles with rubberized NEX® polymer-modified asphalt, which holds granules better and stays more flexible over time than standard asphalt shingles. Their lineup includes options with up to a Class 4 impact rating — the highest rating available — for added resilience against hail and debris. We install this system over Fontana felt underlayment, to manufacturer spec.

Prefer a different shingle brand? That's completely fine — we'll quote it the same way.

Common Questions

Roof replacement FAQ

No. Malarkey over Fontana felt is our featured, recommended system for asphalt shingle roofs because of how it performs, but you can choose any shingle brand, a metal roof, or a low-slope system instead — we'll build your free estimate around your preference.

Most re-roofs take about one day for the tear-off, followed by one to two business days for the re-roof itself, depending on the size of the home and any repairs we run into along the way. Larger or more involved jobs can take a bit longer, while smaller, straightforward roofs often move faster. We'll give you a specific timeframe as part of your free estimate.

Yes — we install standing-seam and metal roofing systems in addition to asphalt shingles. We'll go over the tradeoffs for your home during your free estimate.

Yes. For porches, additions, and other low-pitch sections that shingles aren't suited for, we install a self-adhered modified bitumen system — Polyglass' Elastoflex nailable base sheet under their Polyflex self-adhering cap sheet, finished with metal drip edge along the edges.
